DOVER - A. Ruth Braemer, of Dover, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 96.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1911, in Oneida, N.Y., daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Bennett) Veling.

Ruth graduated from Crouse-Irving School of Nursing in Syracuse, N.Y., Class of 1933.

She then worked as a registered nurse while living in New York and Florida, retiring in 1975.

While living in Dover for the past 21 years, Ruth had also maintained a home in Orlando, Fla. since 1957.

She enjoyed writing poems and short stories, reading, baking and taking care of her family.

In recent years, her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth was also a woman of great faith in God.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kurt G. Braemer in 1983.

She is survived by her daughter, with whom she lived, Karen A. Kuras of Dover; two sisters, Mary Drummond of Oneida, N.Y., and Rita Setticase of Miami; grandchildren, Cheryl L. Johnes, Paul B. Kuras, and Glen M. Kuras, all of Dover; and great-grandchildren, Kayliana M. Kuras, Sydney M. Johnes and Tyler J. Johnes, all of Dover.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Mass of Christian Burial will be noon Monday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.

Burial will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate that Masses be offered for the repose of Ruth's soul at a Catholic church of your choice.
