Yolanda Elizabeth Pierce, 42

DOVER - Yolanda Elizabeth Pierce of Dover, affectionately known as "Lonnie," departed this life Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was 42.

Ms. Pierce was born June 5, 1965 in Dover, the daughter of Lamont and Romenia Maye, and attended Dover High School.

She was a homemaker and spent her leisure time enjoying her grandchildren and going to bingo with her family.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lamont Maye; brother, V. Thomas Harris; and nephew, Dimetrius Stratton.

She is survived by her children, Antoinne Harris, Larry Pierce Jr., Erica Banks, Isaac Pierce and Darnell Pierce, all of Dover, and Lisa Swiggett of Smyrna; two stepdaughters, Joshina Anderson and Sharon Robinson; two stepsons, Antoin Julius and Deshawn Harmon; her mother, Romenia Maye; sisters, Lenora Malloy, Lainya Noel, Kathie Page and Nicole Maye, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., Aretha Maye of Charleston, S.C., and Twanna Maye of Queens, N.Y.; one brother, James Lee Harris of Dover; her grandparents, James and Ardella Bryan of Dover; grandchildren, Rosetta Pierce, Kazmere Penuela, Nickai Harris, N'Laysia Pierce, Jamere Banks, Nasir Pierce, Dasir Pierce, Stephone Pierce, Elijah Pierce, Azoria Banks and Ne'Von Pierce; brother-in-law, Keith Malloy; sister-in-law, Michele McMillan; and son-in-law, Anthony Banks.

The viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Dover. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where friends may call on hour prior.

Burial will be in Whatcoat Cemetery in Dover.

Family and friends may honor her with a donation at Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
