DENTON, Md. - William W. Blades, of Denton, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, after a short stay at the Caroline Home for Hospice in Denton. He was 84. Born in the Daffin House in Tuckahoe Neck in Caroline County, Mr. Blades was the son of the late Rolen James Blades and Ella Mae Jump Blades. He lived in the Tuckahoe Neck and the Denton area all of his life, where he farmed and was a Rural Letter Carrier, working for the US Post Office for 36 years until he retired in 1987. He had attended Thawley's Chapel, was a member of the Caroline County Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Rural Letter carriers' Association. On April 29th, he and his wife, Doris celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. In addition to his wife, Mr. Blades is survived by one son, W. Glenn Blades and his wife Bonnie of Denton; two grandchildren, Richard Allan Blades and his wife Diana of West Deptford, N.J., and Connie Lynn Randolph and her husband David of Norristown, Pa.; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Gillian and Darby Blades, David and Morgan Randolph; a niece, Charlanne Elburn and her husband David; and one aunt, Nettie Jump. He was preceded in death by one brother, Rolen J. Blades Jr., and his wife Ann. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call from 7 until 9 p.m., on Saturday evening and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery, 24865 Meeting House Road in Denton. The family suggests for family and friends to send memorial donations to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O.
