Hudson, 78 DOVER - William Sheppard Hudson, of Berwyn, Pa., passed away peacefully in Wayne, Pa., on Thursday April 11, 2013. Mr. Hudson was born Sept. 12, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Carroll and Sarah Hudson. He graduated from Dover High School in 1952, Dickinson College in 1956 and Dickinson School Law in 1960. Mr. Hudson practiced law for over 45 years, and was a Senior Partner of Hudson, Jones, Jaywork & Fisher in Dover, Del. He was a former partner in Colonial Investment & Management Company in Dover. He enjoyed being involved in politics and was President of the Delaware Young Republicans. Mr. Hudson served as an officer in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed music, traveling, spending time with his family, playing golf, summers on Long Beach Island, N.J. and winters in the Florida Keys. Church was very important in his life and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dover, since 1936. He held the position of Deacon and delivered many sermons as guest pastor. Mr. Hudson was on the boards for both Maple Dale Country Club & Wild Quail Country Club. He was an active member and former President of the Friends of Old Dover. Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife of 26 years, June K. Hudson of Berwyn, Pa.; children, William S. Hudson, Jr. and wife Kimberly, of Frankford, Del., Robert P. Hudson of Magnolia, Lorann B. Wood and husband Buzz, of Berwyn, Pa., Alison K. Barklage and husband Thomas, of Doylestown, Pa.; grandchildren, Joshua Hudson, Kristin Hudson, Madelon Wood, Montgomery Wood, Blake Barklage, and Alexis Barklage. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Dover, 301 Walker Road, Dover. Immediately following the visitation there will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to First Baptist Memorial Foundation, 301 Walker Road, Dover, DE 19904 or the Alzheimers Association of Delaware, 188 North Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
