William R. Mazurak, 74

SEAFORD - William R. Mazurak of Seaford died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. He was 74.

Mr. Mazurak was born March 12, 1932, in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., son of the late William A. Mazurak and Ruth Mazurak.

He graduated from Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Conn., in 1951.

He served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 until his discharge in 1955. He then returned from the Navy and lived in Bedford, N.Y., with his wife and children.

Mr. Mazurak was a president of the Bedford Lions Club.

Mr. Mazurak also ran a successful contracting business, Mazurak Brothers, with his brother for many years.

He later moved to Seaford to own and operate a working farm.

Mr. Mazurak occupied himself with several hobbies that included model airplane building and wildfowl carving. He was also a private pilot and owned and built his own plane.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, also of Seaford; a brother, Harry Mazurak from Evington, Va.; children, Robert Mazurak and his wife, Julie, from Bedford, Peter Mazurak and his wife, Tena from Reading, Pa., and Susan Urban and her husband, Robert from Oveido, Fla.; three grandchildren, Emily, Elise, and Rachel; and two step-grandchildren, Wendy and Brad.

Internment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Mt. Kisco.

Instead of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 9828, Newark, DE 19714-4928.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Oelker and Cox Funeral Home Mt. Kisco.
