William O."Billy" Elborn Sr., 69

BARCLAY, Md. - William O. "Billy" Elborn Sr. of Barclay died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at home, with his loving family and friends by his side. He was 69.

Mr. Elborn was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Barclay, son of the late Joseph Elborn and Elsie (Jackson) Elborn Zaunfuchs.

He was a lifetime resident of Barclay where he owned and operated Elborn"s Farm. He also worked for ESI-America during his farming career.

Mr. Elborn attended Barclay Assembly of God and was a past member of Grasonville"s Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved to travel.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Julis Zaunfuchs; and a sister, Margaret Durden.

Mr. Elborn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Alice Graham Elborn; four children, Robin Nicholson and her husband Bob, Billy Elborn and his wife Teri, and Stacie Putnam and her husband Bobby, all of Barclay, and Billie Jo Collier and her husband Mike of Smyrna, Del.; a sister, Faith Clough of Price Station; nine grandchildren, Robert Nicholson, Amanda Nicholson, Michael Collier, Ashlei Elborn, Joey Elborn, Lili Elborn, Brittany Putnam, Lindsey Putnam and Gunnar Simpler; and his devoted friends, Roger States, "Sawmill" and Virginia Bowers, Donald and Betty Starkey, Betty Cannon and many more.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., where funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Crumpton Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Barclay Assemble of God, 111 Busic Church Road, Barclay, MD 21607; or Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 61, Sudlersville, MD 21668.
