William "Duke" Lawrence Miller, 65

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - William "Duke" Lawrence Miller, of Chestertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, in the Chester River Hospital Center. He was 65. William L. Miller was born Aug. 20, 1943, in Pennsylvania the son of the late Charles R. Miller and Rebecca "McKeever". Mr. Miller worked as an equipment operator of the Local 542 Union in Delaware. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, playing poker and hunting and spending Saturday night at the VFW. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Horner and three brothers, Homer, Asa and Russell Miller. He is survived by two daughters, Shelly L. Martin of Clayton, Del., and Belinda Manning of Chestertown; two sisters, Jane Miller, Ila Miller both of Greensburg, Pa., one brother, Leonard Miller of Greensburg, Pa., and three grandchildren, Heather Martin, Ashley Martin and Aja Alexis Manning. Services will be private. Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to VFW Post 652 P.O. Box 420 Millington, MD. 21651.
