MAGNOLIA - William L. Dill passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Foley, AL.
He was born in Wilmington to the late Howard and Thelma (Porter) Dill. He was a lifelong resident of Harrington.
In his younger days, he drove midget cars and he was voted best dressed in high school. After graduation, from high school in 1966, he served in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he served as a police officer for the town of Bethany Beach. He was also a DJ on local radio.
During his retirement, over the past several years he enjoyed traveling the entire country RVing with his beloved wife, Rita, and their faithful traveling companions, their Pomeranians, which included Britney, Rocky, Bunny and Troy through the years on the road.
Bill is now traveling with their Pomeranians that passed Britney, Rocky and Bunny and they are loving every minute of their next adventure.
William is survived by his loving wife, Rita; step-sons, Wayne (Annette) Rickrode, Roy (Patty) Rickrode and his beloved pet, Troy; cousin, Carolyn Porter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 12:00 noon. Those attending must wear a mask and adhere to distancing and gathering protocols. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
