William J. Schmidt

GREENWOOD - William J. "Bud" Schmidt, Jr. passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2018.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to William and Elizabeth Draper Schmidt.
William was a proud U.S. Marine Corp veteran, serving as a combat engineer.
He worked for the State of Delaware as a Drug and Alcohol counselor, and later he was a driver for Delmarva Transportation.
William was preceded in death by the love of his life, Nadine B. Holder; his parents, William and Caroline Schmidt; and his brother, Charles Myers.
He is survived by his sister, June Puglia of Northvale, N.J.; (15) children Wanda Muse, Bruce Schmidt, Lynn Schmidt, Michael Schmidt, Kimberly Schmidt, William Schmidt III, Richard Christley, Carrie Huber, Frank Christley, Nathan Christley, Candice Lang, Dudley Christley, Shamon Christley, Thomas Christley and Winer Christley; seven nieces and nephews; (37) grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; along with many special friends and family who all loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Greenwood VFW Post, 303 Mills Street, Greenwood, DE 19950.
