William 'Bill' H. Lane, 77 FEDERALSBURG, Md. - William "Bill" H. Lane, of Federalsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at the Nanticoke Medical Center in Seaford, Del. He was 77. Born in Easton, Md., on Sept. 13, 1932, Mr. Lane was the son of the late William Hartley Lane Sr. and Genevieve "Jennie" Skrzecz Lane. He graduated from Caroline High School in Denton in 1952 where he played soccer, basketball, and baseball. During high school he enlisted in the National Guard. Mr. Lane honorably served in the National Guard where he became a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. After his service to his country he began a successful career at E.I. Dupont in Seaford, Del., where he retired after 30 years in the 1990's. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, loved to garden, and was an avid Orioles, Ravens and Terps Basketball team fan. He was a member of the Federalsburg VFW Post 5246. Mr. Lane is survived by Delores Breeding Lane of Federalsburg, his wife of 54 years; his two daughters, Lois L. Wimbrow and her husband Fred of Blades, Del., and Linda Elben of Federalsburg; his one son, W. Glenn Lane and significant other Vickie of Federalsburg, Md.; one brother, Charles "Pokey" Lane of Cambridge, Md.; one sister, Mary Jane Feldman of Hampton Roads, Va.; three grandchildren, Kari Spence and her husband William of Alexandria, Va., Michael Wimbrow and his fiancé Lacey of Denton, Md., Kristen Lane and her significant other Kenny of Federalsburg, Md. The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 6 until 8 on Tuesday evening. The interment will be in the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for friends to send memorial donations to the Seaford Church of the Nazarene, 25667 Faith Lane, Seaford, DE 19973; or to the Federalsburg VFW Post 5246, PO Box 127, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
