William H. Felty, Jr., 77
DOVER - William H. Felty, Jr. passed away suddenly on Monday, March 22, 2021. Bill was born on November 21, 1943 in Dover to the late Mary and William H. Felty, Sr.
After graduating from Caesar Rodney High School in 1963, he attended Case Western Reserve University. Bill worked with his father in the family carpentry business. Later he went to work for DEL DOT, retiring in 2008, after 30 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked with Century Engineering as a construction technician until 2014.
Bill was an avid supporter of the Republican Party and was active in politics throughout his life. He was very proud to have been a part of President Reagan's re-election campaign in 1984. As a member of the Masonic Lodge he reached the 33rd degree.
Bill liked traveling whether in his RV or on a cruise ship. Hunting, boating and fishing were some of his favorite outdoor activities. He also enjoyed golfing and tennis. He rooted for Jeff Gordon, the Phillies and the Eagles. His family declares him to be one of the best backyard grillers of all time.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marge, of 23 years; daughter, Michele (Chris) Reed of Dover; stepchildren, Michael (Heather) Garner of Church Hill, Md., Jody (Philip) Sanger of Honey Brook, Pa.; sister, Bevaly Rust of Felton. Grandpoppy will be dearly missed by his 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with them and attend their many activities.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2021 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt.10), Dover. Funeral and Interment will be private due to covid restrictions.
