SMYRNA - William G. Durant, of Smyrna, passed away at home Tuesday, April 15, 2008. He was 76.
Mr. Durant was born May 18, 1931, in Havre de Grace, Md., the son of the late Don and Ruth Gilbert Durant.
Mr. Durant was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and worked as a mechanic while in the Air Force.
Following his discharge from the Air Force, he worked as a production foreman for American Mirrex, formerly of Delaware City.
He was a member of American Legion David C. Harrison Post 14 in Smyrna.
Mr. Durant is survived by his wife, Mary "Ginny" Hurd Durant; three daughters, Leslie Bartsch and her husband Donald of Hurlock, Md., Laurie Durant and her husband Jeffrey Phillips of Waxahachie, Texas, and Lynda Miller and her husband, George of Dover; two stepchildren, Robert Z. Robinson and his wife Lisa of Clayton, and Stacie A. Robinson, also of Clayton; and two grandchildren, Brandon Fansler and Brooke Robinson.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
