William Edward Messing

Wyoming - William Edward Messing, Jr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, in Kent General Hospital.
William was born July 3, 1939, in Pennsylvania to the late William and Maryjane (Dresden) Messing. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corp, before marrying the love of his life Marilyn with whom he spent almost 58 years before her passing in 2018.
William had a very diverse career, always working to support his family. From farming, truck driving, working on bridges, and doing upholstery for a furniture maker to name a few. He worked for AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Company for over 25 years before retiring. In his free time he enjoyed doing yard work, and making various items for people in his wood shop.
William is survived by four children, William E. Messing, III and wife, Brenda, of Wyoming, Melinda Goldblatt and husband, Leonard, of Townsend, Mark Messing, of Middletown and Carl Messing and wife, Rhianna, of Verbena, Ala.; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Danielle Barnes, Jacquelyn O'Neill, Marilyn O'Neill, William Messing, IV, Steven Heckerman, Charlene Heckerman, Karl Messing, Zachary Messing, Kailyn Messing, April Green, Jeannie Williams, Daimion Messing, Kali Barnes, Caleb Barnes, Mark Jarman, Jessica Jarman, Sadie Messing, Brynn Haggerty, Kole Haggerty, Ayden Heckerman, Alanna Heckerman, Landin Heckerman, Memphis Green, Maya Green, Emily Williams and Alaina Messing. He is also survived by four brothers, two sisters, two sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews across multiple states.
Viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019. Rev. Dr. C.J. Ransdell, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
