CAMDEN, Del. William E. Darling, III, known as Bill to his family and friends, passed away on April 3, 2022, of natural causes.
He was born to his parents, William and Rose Darling, II, on November 28, 1947 in Easton, Md. He was happily married for 52 loving years to his high school sweetheart, Donna, who survives him.
Bill is also survived by his daughter, Angela and her husband Alex; his daughter, Michelle; and granddaughter, Ashlyn, who will always remember him as the greatest daddy and Poppop.
He grew up in Denton, Md. where his sister Connie still resides with her daughter Robin. In his youth, Bill was an all-around athlete playing football, baseball, basketball, and running track. He loved music and played drums and guitar in bands and for fun through the years. He maintained his love for NASCAR attending the Dover race every year and rooted for the fighting Irish of Notre Dame each season. He challenged himself by doing the daily crossword puzzles. Bill was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He had a witty sense of humor that made him well-loved by all the people he knew. He will be missed greatly by all that knew him.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on April 20, 2022, at the Veterans Cemetery in Bear, Del.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans at dav.org.
Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at http://www.torbertfuneral.com
