MILFORD - William D. Ellingsworth III passed away July 24, 2015 at Genesis of Milford. Bill was born in Ellendale on April 2, 1937 to the late Elizabeth and William Ellingsworth. Bill served in the U.S. Navy and worked at Dupont for 30 years. He spent his retirement watching his grandchildren that he loved with all of his heart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Frances Ellingsworth in 2012; and his brother Franklin Ellingsworth. He is survived by his children, William D. Ellingsworth IV (Kelly) of Rehoboth, Dana McKenzie (John) of Milford, and Michele Craft (Kevin) also of Milford; grandchildren, Taylor Reynolds (Craig), Katelyn Ellingsworth and fiancée Skylar, Brooke Clogg (Cody), Morgan McKenzie, Kolby Craft, Austin Craft; one great-grandchild, Luke Clogg; brothers, Donald Ellingsworth, Wayne Ellingsworth (Diane); and sister, Elizabeth Droddy (Kenneth). A visitation will be held Wed., July 29, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of William D. Ellingsworth III can be made to: Autism Society, 4340 East-West Hwy, Suite 350 Bethesda, MD 20814.
