GOLDSBORO, Md. - Wilbur Levengood Sr., of Goldsboro, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, in Envoy of Denton. He was 83. He was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Stowe, Pa., to the late Louis Herman and Esther Moyer Levengood. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mabel Levengood; one son, Wilbur Levengood Jr. of Goldsboro; one daughter, Lou Ann Porter of Goldsboro; one sister, Joyce Wunderlich of Douglasville, Pa.; and three granddaughters, Brooke Porter, Amber Porter and Hayley Levengood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Levengood is predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Levengood. Mr. Levengood was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Philippines. Mr. Levengood was employed with Electo-Therm of Denton, prior to that he was employed with Chrysler of Newark, DE. He was a member of the American Legion Post #29, Denton. A reception will be held for family and friends of Mr. Levengood at the Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, from 4 until 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
