Wilbur "Pop" Gordon Pitts, 72
DOVER - Wilbur "Pop" Gordon Pitts, formerly of Dover departed this earthly life into eternal life on Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, in Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md. He was 72.
Mr. Pitts was born in Baltimore, son of the late Henry and Lenora (Sterling) Pitts.
He had several jobs in his lifetime, working in the Stockley Center, as a licensed asbestos remover, and in laundry in Comfort Inn Salisbury, Md. and Golden Corral in Salisbury.
Mr. Pitts loved listening to his oldies and goodies music.
He loved all of his extended family and the grandchildren.
Mr. Pitts will be remembered as dear and loving friend and always had a word of encouragement.
He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Gattis, and her mother, Berneldia Winder of Salisbury; one son, Terrance Brown of Baltimore; a brother, Henry Pitts of Chicago; several friends, Clyde Jones, Jessie Meeks, John Hood, Othar Lewis Sr., Vantange Taylor, Judy Spencer, Donna Hendricks, Michael Hendricks; and devoted friends and caregivers, Barbara Horton and Nathaniel Briddell, Berlin, Md., where he resided; and all aids and staff at Berlin Nursing Home; he also has grandchildren, a godgranddaughter, Brianna Hendricks as he fondly called her his "Breezy,"; and niece and nephew.
Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home 1618 West Road, Salisbury.
Instead of flowers; the family suggests memorial contributions to Lewis N Watson Funeral Home for Wilbur G. Pitts.
