DOVER - Retired U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Wayne Thomas Haywood of Dover died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was 65.

Mr. Haywood was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Clarence Haywood and Beulah Ingle Herrin.

He served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, of which he spent one year in Vietnam, Korea and England.

Mr. Haywood retired on disability as a vehicle mechanic.

On June 25, 1966, he married his wife of 41 years, Marlene McKee.

Mr. Haywood enjoyed working on cars, camping with his wife and family, NASCAR, listening to country/western and gospel music and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with his poodle, Muffins.

He was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church and the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Haywood was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Robert Mueller.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marlene Faye (McKee) Haywood of Dover; his sons, Bruce Haywood of Dover, Thomas and his wife Peggy Haywood of Camden, and Ronald Haywood and Terri Oakes of Milford; a daughter, Deborah and her husband Duane Johnson of Milford; a sister, Linda Nickelson of Ashburn, Va.; a brother-in-law, Alvin Rohm of Dover; 14 grandchildren, Jared Haywood, Brent Haywood, Nicole Larimore, Bobby Larimore, Joey Larimore, Camilla Haywood, Melissa Haywood, Harley Haywood, Allen Oakes, Christa Haywood, Ronnie Haywood, Amber Haywood, Zachary Johnson and Dillon Johnson; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Friends may call at the Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1564 S. State St., Dover, from 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday. Funeral services will be at noon in the church. Pastor John W. Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1564 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901.
