Wayne E. Meade Sr.

GREENSBORO Md. - Wayne E. Meade Sr., of Greensboro, died on Oct. 20, 2010, at his home. He was 72. Born in Annapolis, Md., on June 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Russell and Winiferd Stallings Meade. He was a 1956 graduate of Annapolis High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served for three years before being honorably discharged in March of 1960. Mr. Meade married that same year to Jacquelyn Ann Tolliver, they resided in Annapolis, Md., Ft. Washington, Md., and later Kent Island, Md. He worked in the Retail industry until 1980 when he began his career as a body shop manager. He retired due to medical reasons and moved to Greensboro, Md. He was a past member of the Temple Hills Elk Lodge where he enjoyed volunteering special events. He also enjoyed woodworking and most of all his family. His wife predeceased him on Oct. 13, 2009. He is survived by three children, Wayne Meade, Jr. and his wife Dorothi of North Beach, James Meade and his girlfriend Linda Pearson of Greensboro, and Tracy Lee Everett and her boyfriend Kurt of Mt. Carmel, Ind.; a sister, Carol McCollister and her husband Doug of New Jersey; and three grandchildren, Christopher Everett, Wayne Meade III, and Jonathan Everett. Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Sunset Ave., Greensboro. Interment will be held privately at the veterans cemetery.
