Walter Andrew 'Virgil' Bork, 87 FELTON - Walter Andrew "Virgil" Bork, of Felton, died peacefully Monday, July 21, 2008, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was 87. Virgil was born on March 30, 1921, in Clarksburg, W.Va., son of the late Walter Virgil and Mary (Slominski) Bork. He and his wife were wed in England in 1945. Virgil served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Air Force serving during World War II. He had worked as a physical education teacher, athletic director and department chairman coach for both baseball and football at Abraham Clark High School, Roselle, N.J. Virgil enjoyed many hobbies including golfing, boating, woodworking, bowling, coaching, camping, music, painting and enjoying the sun on the patio. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Dover, the Elks Club of Dover, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Musicians Union, USGA, American Bowling Congress and the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athlete Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a loving son, Andy Bork; brothers, Bill, Casey, and Ziggy Bork; and sisters, Wanda Zimmisky and Vivian Zawislak. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beryl J. Bork; children, Richard Bork and his wife Mary of Wyoming, Steven C. Bork and his wife Lisa of Upper Deerfield, N.J., and Susan Bork and her husband Dr. Jeff Kashner of Seattle, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Bork of Camden; and grandchildren, Erik and his fiancé Dawn Bare and Jessica Bork, Doreen and her fiancé Jerry Lawrence and Michael Bork, Lauren and Andrew Bork and Dylan Bork. Friends may call 3-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church, State and Water streets, Dover. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. The family suggests memorial contributions to Felton Fire Company, P.O. Box 946, Felton, DE 19943. Flowers are welcome. Letters of condolences may be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
