HARBESON - Wallace E. Kopple, of Harbeson, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 94 Wallace was born in Harbeson, the son of the late, Hugo and Clara (Steiner) Kopple. He was a lifelong farmer and worked in the Georgetown Post Office and retired after several years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Georgetown Kiwanis Club where he held many offices including being President twice, the Harbeson United Methodist Church and the National Active Retired Federal Employees. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, May Ellingsworth Kopple; two sons, Bud Wagner and his wife Jeanette and Ed Kopple and his wife Kay, all of Harbeson; four grandchildren, Sharon Mews, Jeff Wagner, Donna Kopple, Dottie Lank and her husband Nick; and seven great-grandchildren, Catlyn Mews, Riley Wagner, Kelsey Buchanan, Gary Johnson, Jamel Johnson and Jayden Johnson and Axl Lank and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2011, in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after noon. Interment will be held in Harbeson Cemetery, Harbeson. Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or Harbeson U.M. Church, 18647 Harbeson Road, Harbeson, DE 19951.
