CLAYTON - Virginia L. Womack of Clayton left this life Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, surrounded by her family and friends in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 77.

She lived a varied and interesting life in many parts of the world and made friends wherever she went. She pursued an avid interest in all things spiritual and saw very few barriers between this world and the next.

She was predeceased by her son, Michael Spence; her parents, Hazel McCrerry Colwell and Webb McCrerry; and a dear friend, Debbie Kesselring.

She leaves to remember her, two sons, William Spence of Clayton and Franz Kappel and his wife Cathleen of Wilmington; a daughter, Kristine Pressley of Wilmington; a greatly beloved granddaughter, Mallory Pressley of Clayton; a granddaughter, Vickie Snow of Galveston, Texas; two adored grandsons, Franz N. Kappel and Kyle W. Kappel, both of Earleville, Md.; and a host of friends who she considered her extended family.

Family will receive visitors at Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, Tuesday at 7 p.m. and memorial services begin at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to defray burial expenses and towards the education of Mallory Pressley, which may be mailed to Faries Funeral home.
