SMYRNA - Virginia Heverin, of Smyrna, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. She was 78.
Born in Wilmington on Dec. 8, 1929, she was the daughter of Florence (Streets) Timmons of Clayton and the late Earl E. Timmons Sr.
Mrs. Heverin was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Heverin, in 2002; a daughter, Dolly Heverin, in 1998; a son, Brantley Heverin, in 2003; a son-in-law, Jerry Johnson, in 2006; and two brothers, John Brown and Ralph Timmons.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Jeannie Johnson of Smyrna; two sons, Glenn Heverin and his wife Terri and James Heverin Jr., all of Townsend; two sisters, Sally Hewes and Betty Jolly, both of Smyrna; six brothers, Earl Timmons Jr. of Smyrna, James Timmons of Clayton, Thomas Timmons of Idaho, Roland Timmons of Smyrna, William Timmons of Clayton and Paul Timmons of Florida; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may visit Friday from 7-9 p.m.
Interment will be in Old Union Cemetery, Townsend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Heverin's memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
