MIDDLETOWN - Virginia H. Wilson Wallace, 75, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2009, at Broadmeadow Healthcare after a long illness. Born on Nov. 8, 1933, in Havre de Grace, Md. she was the daughter of the late Conley C. and Pauline (Savin) Hurley. In her earlier years, Virginia was a school bus driver for Cecil County Public Schools. She loved antiques and especially enjoyed being a homemaker where she found great pleasure in canning and cooking. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Amos Wilson, Sr.; a sister, Sarah Jane Pitcher; and a brother, Pete Savin. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Charles "Chappy" Wallace; four children, E. Amos Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Elkton, Becky Unruh and her husband, Covey of Taylor's Bridge, Artie Wilson, who helped care for her, of Clayton, and V. Bonnie Foley and her husband, Donald of Warwick; two sisters, Louise Ellingsworth of New Castle and Janet Bake of Townsend; ten grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Virginia's family would like to thank the staff at Broadmeadow Healthcare and to those who shared their care and compassion with her during her illness. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 131 Main Street (Rt. 282) in Warwick, Md., where friends may visit from noon-1 p.m. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, c/o Betty Davis, P.O. Box 15, Warwick, MD 21912-0015.
