SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Virgina Burris Bowers passed away Friday, Mar. 3, 2017 at Kent General Hospital in Dover.
Virginia B. Bowers was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Chestertville, Md., the daughter of the late Henry Burris and Pearl "Schelts" Burris.
Virginia attended school through the 7th grade before going to work on the farm, at an early age. On Marc. 10, 1956 she married her late husband of 56 years, Bryan Bowers. She worked for Leeds Travel Ware for 13 years, before going to work at Playtex, as a factory worker, where she worked for 32 years before having to go on disability. Virginia was a member of the Millington Moose, Middletown Moose and Harrington Moose Lodges. She loved to go shopping, going to yard sales and craft shows, camping, and dancing. She was a country music fan, and also loved to spend time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Henry Burris; and a sister- in-law, Barbara Burris.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry Bowers of Sudlersville, Md.; two sons, Danny Bowers and Dale Bowers both of Sudlersville, Md.; six grandchildren, Amy Bowers of Sudlersville, Md., Stephen Bowers of Marydel, Jason Bowers of Clayton, Brittany Bowers of Greensboro, Md., Ricky Blades of Sudlersville, Md., Roman Blades of Millington, Md.; two brothers, Floyd Burris of Sudlersville, Md., James Burris of Sudlersville, Md.; two sisters-in- law, Audrey Burris of Sudlersvilelle, Md. and Joan Burris of Sudlersville, Md.; and five great-grandchildren, Tre', Natilee, Adalyn, Brady, and Harley.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Mar. 11, 2017 at 1 p.m., at Sudlersville Cemetery.
