ELLENDALE - Violet J. Morgan, of Ellendale, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Country Rest Home, Greenwood. She was 82.
Violet was born in Milton, the daughter of the late Charles Coard and Delema Sammons Jones.
She loved being a housewife and a farmer's wife and loved cooking. She also enjoyed country music.
She was a member of the Ellendale United Methodist Church, president and secretary of the United Methodist Women, and former member of the Sussex County and Delaware Farm Bureaus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood O. Morgan on Sept. 3, 2002; a brother, Calvin Jones and sisters, Doris Jones Willey and Ruth Jones Calhoun.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon A. Morgan of Ellendale; two sisters, Helen Strahle of Milford and Pearl Bock of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday.
Interment will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
