Victorine Durham

Victorine Durham, 77 CHESWOLD - Victorine Durham, of Cheswold, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 77. Mrs. Durham was born Dec. 11, 1930, in Dover, to the late Alonzo Coker and Rebecca Carney Coker. She worked for over 20 years at Boscovs in sales. Prior to Boscovs, Mrs. Durham had worked in the Van Holten Pickle Factory in Kenton and at ILC Industries, Dover, in the space suit program. She enjoyed gardening, family and friends. Mrs. Durham was a member of the Immanuel Union Methodist Church in Cheswold and sang in the choir in her earlier years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlton D. and McDonald T. Coker; and her sister, Cecelia Carney. Mrs. Durham is survived by her son, Ed Durham and his wife Antonina Skripka of Ellicott City, Md.; her daughter, Minnie Bowen and her husband Fred of Cheswold; her brother, Walter Coker and wife Myrtle of Dover; sister-in-law, Anna Coker of Cheswold; grandchildren, Krystle Watts and her husband Rob of Felton, Bridget Bowen and Jason Musser of Dagsboro; one great-grandchild, Robbie Watts Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior. Interment will be in Immanuel Union Methodist Church Cemetery, Cheswold. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolences may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
