Verna 'Sue' Hibbler, 83
HARTLY - Verna "Sue" Hibbler of Hartly, formerly of Dover passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at home.
Mrs. Hibbler was born December 10, 1939 in Clintwood, Virginia to the late Jerry Hodge and Universal Counts Hodge.
She worked for Playtex for 30 years retiring in 2002. Mrs. Hibbler enjoyed gardening, but especially spending time with family, playing games, family reunions, traveling, and their monthly birthday dinner nights.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde L. Hibbler, Sr.; son, Clyde L. Hibbler, Jr; grandsons, Clyde L. Hibbler, III and Benjamin W. Hibbler; sister, Nancy Konieczny; brother, Jackie Hodge.
She is survived by her daughters, Ella Culver and her husband Roger of Hartly and Marie Gillis of Crumpton, MD; brother, Jerry "Pete" Hodge of Chandler, AZ; sisters, Ann Warner of Clayton, DE, Ina Hicks of Abingdon, VA, Lila Carter, Ella Cuddy and Rose Gregory all of Roanoke, VA; adopted son, Joseph Hill and his three daughters; grandchildren, Tammie Ray, Stephen Culver, Tricia Gillis, Jessica Gunter and Timothy Gillis and his wife Oliva; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held, 1p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 6-8p.m. Friday evening. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
