Venita Anne Scott

DOVER - Venita Anne (Buecher) Scott of Dover, died October 31, 2014, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 92. Mrs. Scott was born in Lordship, Conn. to the late Arthur Louis and Mae (Roddy) Buecher. She was a Registered Nurse who stayed at home with her children until they entered high school. Her early working years included practicing as an RN in both hospitals and private physicians' offices. She retired from Nursing to pursue an interest in banking, starting out as a teller and retiring as a Vice President for Delaware Trust Company. She loved traveling and big-city life including music, theatre and dance, as well as quiet-time pursuits such as reading, cooking and sailing the Chesapeake with her husband, Frank. In addition to her parents and two sisters, Marie and Frances, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Scott in 1996. Anne is survived by her son, Frank W. Scott, Jr. of Wilmington; daughter, Susan McNamara and husband Ed of Dover; brother, Arthur E. Buecher and his wife Barbara of Ocala, Fla.; three grandchildren, A. Nathan McNamara, Anne Siobhan (McNamara) Hosein, and Megan Elisabeth (McNamara) Williams; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia Elisabeth, Lucy Caroline and Kathryn Anne Williams, and Madeline Salima Hosein. A Memorial Mass will be 1 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 901 N. duPont Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Interment will be private, in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. Arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
