Velma Almeta Evans-Wayman, 57

DOVER - Velma Almeta Evans-Wayman, of Dover, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, after a long illness. She was 57.

She was born June 11 in Dover and was the daughter of the late James Edgar and Helen Evans.

She is survived by her four children, Benita Evans of Wilmington, Robert Wayman Jr. of Bridgeville, Katina Wayman of Dover and Randal Wayman, also of Dover; two sisters, Mary Mosley of Cheswold and Audrey Evans of Camden; one brother, Edgar Evans Jr.; seven grandchildren, Donald Amir De'Shawn Wayman, Shanice La'Kie Wayman, Lauren Nicole Wayman, all of Dover and Tyre Wayman of Magnolia, Jaki Wayman, Jakira Wayman and Randaja Wayman of Dover; six sisters-in-law and a long time companion, Mr. William Jones-Bey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Zion AME Church, Fulton and Queen streets, Dover, where friends may view one hour prior.

Burial will be in Massey Cemetery, Smyrna.
