GUMBORO - Tom William Naegele, Jr., 41, of Gumboro, died suddenly of a heart attack on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at home. Born Oct. 31, 1968, he was the son of Tom W. Naegele Sr., and the late Janet Harris Naegele. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman and the highlight of his life was the arrival of summer so he could spend the season with his son, Zack. If he was not at work, he was with his family. He spent 15 years working in the Gulf Oil Fields as a diver and operator, before returning to Gumboro. He spent the last five years of his life "tormenting" his sister, all in fun, or spending time with his nieces and nephew, whom he always supported and adored. In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Zachary Naegele, of Franklinton, La.; and a sister, Mindy Phillips, and her husband, Tom, of Gumboro; two nieces, Kaitlin and Kelly Phillips; and a nephew, Tommy Phillips. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadeloupe, on Rt. 17 in Roxana. Father David Kelley will officiate. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Sportsman Association, P.O. Box 94, Lincoln, DE 19960.
