"Tommy" Winder, 49

MIDDLETOWN - Thomas Lee "Tommy" Winder of Middletown died on Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Middletown after several years of poor health. He was 49.

Mr. Winder was born on Sept. 4, 1957, in Wilmington, son of J. Bryton D. Winder and the late M. Marie (Shetzler) Winder.

In his youth, he had a successful kart racing career in Milford.

Mr. Winder graduated from Middletown High School and later attended Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown to obtain his CDL to begin his truck driving career.

At one time he owned and operated T.W. Trucking. He also operated a landscaping business in Greenwood. He later worked for several major trucking companies.

Mr. Winder was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, photography and riding motorcycles.

He was a member of ABATE.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, J. Byrton "Bert" D. and Marjorie M. Winder of Middletown and Williamsport, Pa.; and a sister, Nancy Cheney and her family of Bear.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown. Burial will be in Old Drawyers Cemetery, Odessa.
