Thomas Donovan Crump Jr. took his final bow on June 23, 2021.
Tom was born in Norfolk, Va., in 1943 and spent every moment after that having an adventure. He served in the 82nd Airborne, and his love for skydiving would follow him for the rest of his life; for many years he was a skydiving instructor, and was a pioneer in recreational jumping and tandem skydiving. Also a skilled mechanic, Tom welded the stage at Woodstock and many water towers that still stand today. His biggest passion was music and he was never to be found without a bass and a band to jam with.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Sarah and Dory; his sister, Mary; his nephew, James (Julie), and their children and grandchildren; thousands of skydiving students; and three fifths of the Herring Creek Band.
