Thomas Charles 'Tommy' Jackewicz RISING SUN - Tommy Jackewicz, 54, of Rising Sun, passed into the eternal life on May 17, 2010 at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill. Tommy was raised at home on the family farm near Rising Sun by his loving parents, Joseph and the late Matilda Jackewicz. There he attended the John S. Charlton school. From the age of 18 he was a resident of Good Shepherd Manor in Wakefield, Ohio and later moved to a companion facility also run by the Brothers of Good Shepherd in Momence, Ill. His activities included bowling, shooting basketball, riding his three-wheeled "bicycle", and swimming. His favorite interests were leafing through magazines and newspapers, eating hot dogs and hamburgers, and flying on US Air back and forth to the Manor. He had many friends among the residents of both schools, in particular, Joe Zwolak, his travel partner from Wilmington, Del. Tommy was baptized a member of the Catholic faith as an infant and later received the Sacrament of Holy Communion. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is predeceased by his mother, Matilda in 2007, and is survived by his father, Joseph Jackewicz of Rising Sun; a sister, Shirley Jackewicz of Rising Sun; a brother, Joseph Jackewicz Jr. and wife Gracelyn of Dover; and two nephews, James Thomas and Stephen Joseph of Dover. Friends may call on Monday, May 24, 2010 starting 9 a.m. at Holy Cross Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to: Donations to Good Shepherd Manor, PO Box 260, Momence, IL, 60954-0260 (Located at 4129 N. State Route 1-17). Arrangements are by Michael J.
