MAGNOLIA - Theresa "Nan" Blythe, of Magnolia, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Milford. She was 97. Mrs. Blythe was born on Nov. 21, 1913, in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Joseph and Catarina Langiana Mellace. She was one of twelve siblings. She was a homemaker who had a passion for family, friends and shopping. Nan was a witty and independent woman who could always make you laugh. Her kindness through out the years were felt by all that came in contact with her. She attended Holy Cross Catholic Church and Modern Maturity Center Daybreak Program. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Wesley Blythe; and her second husband, Charles Herbie Blythe. Mrs. Blythe is survived by her daughter, Joyce Kyle of New Castle; a sister, Helen Owens of Smyrna, Ga.; a grandson, Joseph E. Grossmann III and his wife Donna of Magnolia. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Joseph and John Grossmann and John, Joyce, and Michael Kyle; nine great-grandchildren, Anthony, Trinity, Joseph IV, and Christina Grossmann, Shawna, and Matthew Kyle and Stephen David, and Billy and Shane Werner. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2011, at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, where friends may call from noon until service time. Interment will be in Barrett's Chapel Cemetery Federica. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Modern Maturity Daybreak Center or Delaware Hospice.
