DOVER - Thelma "Marie" Ridley, of Dover died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Pinnacle Rehabilitation & Health Center, Smyrna. She was 79. Mrs. Ridley was born Feb. 9, 1932 in Jeffersonville, Ind., to the late Beauford Warman and Alice VanCamp Warman. She had worked for several local nursing homes, Courtland Manor, Silver Lake and Westminster Village, retiring in 1994. After her retirement she did private duty nursing for several years. When her health permitted, Mrs. Ridley attended Cheswold United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald White in 1994. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Earl H. Ridley, Sr. of Dover; and her sister, Mary Loden, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two special nieces, Debbie and Dena; a stepson, Earl H. Ridley, II and his wife Juanita of Camden, Del.; two stepdaughters, Linda K. Maderich and her husband Henry of Maple Shade, N.J., and Lori J. Ennis and her husband Steven of Dover, Del; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Cheswold United Methodist Church, 97 Main Street, Cheswold, DE 19936.
