Thelma J. Corso, 85 MILLSBORO - Thelma J. Corso, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, April 26, 2010, in her home. She was 85. Thelma was born and raised in Georgetown, daughter of the late Harry A. and Ella Mae (Callaway) Joseph. Several years ago, Thelma had been a telephone operator with Diamond State Telephone. She had also worked for over 30 years, along with her son Dick, at Leisure Point. She was secretary/treasurer for the resort and founded the Leisure Point Chapel. Thelma was a life-long member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Stockley and had been involved with the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Corso, Sr., in 1994. She is survived by three children, June Marie Johnson and husband Wayne of Long Neck, Carol Dodd and husband Wayne of Milford, George H. "Dick" Harrison and wife Gladys of Long Neck; daughter-in-law, Vinnie Corso of Winter Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Brian and Frank Johnson, Duane Dodd, Chris and Jill Harrison, Teresa Dropps and Fred Corso, III; nine great-grandchildren, Christopher and Zachary Harrison, Brandon Dodd, Peyton and Cole Johnson, Maria and Henry Dropps, Natalie and Caroline Corso; a sister, Shirley Short and husband James of Lancaster, Pa.; and caregiver, Karen Fisher. A funeral service was held Saturday, May 1, 2010, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
