BETTERTON, Md. - Teresa C. Shelton of Betterton died April 30, 2007, in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. She was 43.
Mrs. Shelton was born on June 15, 1963, in Chestertown, daughter of Beulah Mae East Allen and the late Franklin R. Allen.
She was a lifetime resident of Kent County, where she was a 1981 graduate of Kent County High School.
Mrs. Shelton was criminal clerk for 17 years, and was recently appointed the county clerk for District Court of Maryland for Kent County.
She and her husband moved to Betterton in 1987 and she joined the Betterton Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, and was active with Betterton's Appreciation Day.
She was an active member of the Still Pond United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and her family.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Calvin F. Shelton; her son, C.B. Shelton; daughter, Sabrina Shelton at home; her mother, Beulah Mae Allen of Chestertown; and two brothers, Ken Sutton and his wife, Kathy of Rock Hall, and Donny Sutton and his wife, Sharon of Betterton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, where friends may call on Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
Burial will be held on Still Pond Cemetery, Still Pond, Md.
Memorials may be offered to the Johns Hopkins Avon Breast Center, 601 N. Caroline St., Baltimore, MD 21287; or the Kent County Relay for Life, P.O. Box 1001, Chestertown, MD 21620.
