Suspect sought after robbery attempt at Royal Farms in Dover

Posted

DOVER — A suspect was being sought Wednesday after an attempted robbery at a Royal Farms the day earlier.

At 2:31 p.m., officers were called to the 293 Saulsbury Road store for a fight, Dover police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said. Upon arrival, the altercation was no longer in progress.

Police determined that a Black female had entered the business and attempted to purchase tobacco products. When unable to do so, she began to assault staff and try to remove items from behind the counter, Cpl. Schmid said. The suspect then fled, he added.

There was no additional suspect information available Wednesday afternoon.

Police asked anyone with information to call 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted via Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
