DOVER - Susie Elizabeth Nealy went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Kent General Hospital. She was 76. Susie was born on Sept. 9, 1934, in Nash County, N.C., to the late Carrie Jane Hendricks and Weldon Hendricks, Sr. She is a member of Emmanuel A.M.E. Church in Hartly, where she served on the culinary committee until her health began to fail. After Susie graduated in 1956 from Nash County Training School in North Carolina, she married her high school sweetheart, James E. Nealy, they remained married for 54 years until his death in April 2010. Susie was a loving and devoted wife, caring mother of four, grandmother of eleven and great-grandmother of one. Susie Nealy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her three sisters. Two brothers, four children and grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives survive her. Viewing will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Emmanuel A.M.E. Church, Hartly, from 9 to 11 a.m. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Dover.
