MIDDLETOWN - Susan Price Beattie of Middletown died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 58.
Mrs. Beattie was born Dec. 27, 1948, in Middletown, the daughter of Hazel Wimmer Price and the late Alvah A. Price.
She graduated from Middletown High School in 1966 and later went on to receive an associates degree in computer science from Goldey Beacom College.
For more than 15 years, Mrs. Beattie worked for Citibank Delaware in the lockbox department as a customer service representative.
She married James W. Beattie on Nov. 7, 1998.
Mrs. Beattie loved playing golf with her husband, vacationing in Tennessee and spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her eldest sister, Linda P. Carey.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Beattie of Middletown; her mother, Hazel Wimmer Price of Galena, Md.; two sons, Mark E. Manlove III and wife Suzanne of Arlington, Va., and Stephen A. Manlove and wife Katie of Wilmington; one stepson, William T. Beattie of Townsend; two sisters, Joyce Price Morales and husband CJ of Millington, Md., and Ida Price Nabb and husband Steve of Galena; two grandchildren, Sean and Natalie Manlove of Arlington; three nieces; and three nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 226 E. Main St., Cecilton, Md.
A visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be held in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Earleville, Md., following Friday's services.
Contributions may be made in Susan's memory to the Middletown Lions Club, 354 Daylily Way, Middletown, DE 19709.
