Susan Lynne Melvin, 59
Susan Lynne Melvin of Bonita Springs, FL, and a former resident of Viola, Delaware died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Naples Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was born November 23, 1963, in Milford, Delaware a daughter of the late Lee Messick and Mary (née Wilber) Messick who survives.
She was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware, and attended Delaware Technical Community College where she studied accounting. She was the owner of Business Basics, a business accounting firm serving the Dover and Milford area. She had operated the firm for 30 years when she moved to Bonita Springs, FL in 2021.
Susan is survived by her loving son, David J. Melvin, and his girlfriend, Lauren Jenks, and her daughter, Ava; her mother, Mary A. Messick, and her grandson, Drake A. Melvin all of Bonita Springs, FL; her nephew, Justin Messick and his girlfriend, Melissa Eagle; and her great-niece, Kelsey Messick. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends she loved as family.
Services for Susan are being planned for Delaware and will be announced at a later date.
