DOVER - Stanley "Stan" J. Warren passed away at Kent General Hospital on Monday, March 14, 2011. Mr. Warren was born on Sept. 28, 1925, in Magnolia, to William S. and Emma Warren (Pardee). Mr. Warren was a U.S. Naval Veteran of World War II, serving in both the Atlantic & Pacific regions from 1941 to 1946. He was a member of the American Legion Fox Post, VFW 3238, Harrington Moose Lodge and several hunting clubs. Mr. Warren also owned and operated Stans Furniture Barn in Dover, for 30 years prior to retiring in 1990. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Freda "Chick" Warren (Miller); a son, Stanley Fred Warren; both of his parents and six siblings, four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Warren is survived by three children, Patricia Ward of Dover, Sandy (Warren) Spurling and Gary Spurling of Rochester, N.H., and Mike and Cindy Warren of Woodside. He is also survived by two sisters, Emma Lou Warren of Chicago, Ill., and Peg Tutz of Dover. He was the loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Bryan Thornley, Christina Sbarra Wilkinson, Tammy (Spurling) Barrett and Dan Barrett, Jody (Spurling) McKenzie and Nate McKenzie, Kurt Warren and Kelsey Warren. Mr. Warren is also survived by three-great-granddaughters, twins Kealey Emma and Addison Quinn Barrett and Cortland Del McKenzie. He is also survived by his two beloved cats Blinky and Kelly. Mr. Warrens hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, working out at the Lifestyles Gym and watching the Philadelphia Phillies. He also enjoyed sitting on his patio in the spring and summer to relax and watch the view of his beautiful gardens. He was an avid attendee of the Woodside Methodist Church. Friends and Family are invited to attend funeral services at the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE 19901, at noon, Friday, March 18, 2011, and friends and family may call one hour before time of the service.
