Shirley Lorraine Walley, 75
RICHMOND, Va. - Shirley Lorraine Walley of Richmond, formerly of Colemans, Md., died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at St. Mary"s Hospital, Richmond. She was 75.
Born Jan. 1, 1932, in Colemans, she was the daughter of the late Ronnie and Emmeline Walley.
She received her education in the Kent County Public School System.
Shirley was raised in a Christian family and was a member of Union United Methodist Church, Colemans.
After the death of her mother in 1977, she moved to Philadelphia with her sister, Elaine Dotson.
In 1944, she moved to Richmond to live with her daughter, Phyllis Lee-Speares.
She was preceded in death by a son, "James Vaughn" Wilson; a sister, Elaine Dotson; and two brothers, John Brooks and Kenneth Walley Sr.
She is survived by four daughters, Ramona Walley of Philadelphia, Meta Comegys and her husband, Romie of Worton, Md., Lisa Spears and her husband, Purnell, and Phyllis Spears and her husband, Landon, all of Richmond; two adopted sons, Sherman Harris of Philadelphia and Seymore Massenburg III of Richmond; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Joyce O. Walley of Chestertown, Md.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union United Methodist Church in Worton, Md.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church and two hours prior to the service on Saturday.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
