Shirley Elizabeth Strauss, 74

SELBYVILLE - Shirley Elizabeth Strauss, of Selbyville, formerly of Ridgely, Md., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at her home. She was 74.

She was born April 18, 1933, in Anne Arundel County, Md., to the late Francis J. and Josephine L. (Schmidt) Perro.

Prior to moving to the Eastern Shore, Mrs. Strauss lived in Brooklyn Park.

Mrs. Strauss and her husband, Ken, owned and operated Arundel Metal Fabricators for more than 32 years.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Brooklyn, St. Benedict's of Ridgely and St. Luke's of Ocean City.

She volunteered as a physical education teacher at St. Rose of Lima Church.

Mrs. Strauss was also a member of Catholic Daughters, Brooklyn Park Homemakers Club and St. Rose Women's Sodality.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Naumann, in 2006; and her brother, Richard Perro.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, Kenneth L. Strauss, she is survived by a daughter, Tammy L. Penn of Elkridge, Md.; three brothers, Frank Perro and wife Shirley, John Tucker and Thomas Tucker and wife Bobby Jean; two sisters, Donna Tucker of Odenton, Md., and Rosemary Fisher and husband Robert of Severna Park, Md.; six grandchildren, Nathan Penn, Emily Penn, Marissa Penn, Amy Naumann, Jennifer Naumann and Megan Naumann; 39 nieces and nephews; and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Rose of Lima, Brooklyn, Md., where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be private in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie, Md.
