Shirley Anna Glenn Palmatory

Palmatory, 77 SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Shirley Anna Glenn Palmatory, died Friday August 17, 2012 at the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown, Md., surrounded by her loving children. Shirley Palmatory was born July 6, 1935 in Rock Hall, Md., the daughter of the late Melvin Leon Glenn and Mary Suzanna 'Kelley' Glenn. She was a 1952 graduate of Rock Hall High School. Mrs. Palmatory was a lifelong resident of Kent and Queen Anne's Counties. She worked as seamstress for both Eastwind Corp. in Clayton, Del., and General Clothing in Smyrna, Del. She spent several years taking care of her late husband, Daniel Wilson Palmatory. Mrs. Palmatory was a member of Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church in Sudlersville, Md. She enjoyed cooking and baking as well as crocheting. She also enjoyed doing needle work, humming birds, puzzles and watching game shows. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Wilson Palmatory; one brother, Kenneth Glenn; and three sisters, Lorraine Heinfield, Betty Glenn, and Lucille Stokes. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Foster and Husband Andy of Chestertown, Md., Susan Comegys and her husband Charles of Sudlersville, Md., and Sara Clough and husband Joey of Barclay, Md.; two sons, Daniel G. Palmatory and wife Dianna of Henderson, Md., William F. Palmatory of Sudlersville, Md.; ten grandchildren, John Short, Brian Short, Jason Comegys, Mike Comegys, Rich Comegys, Daniel Palmatory, Dale Palmatory, Chanelle Lane, Brittany Clough, Willam 'Will' Palmatory; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan Comegys, Jonathan Short, Camryn Comegys, Haily Lane, Hunter Lane, Dustin Short, and Courtney Short and Brayden Comegys; she is also survived by a sister, Patsy Higgs; and a brother, Ronnie Glenn both of Rock Hall, Md. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home 370 Cypress St Millington, MD. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Sudlersville Cemetery following the service.
