Shirley Ann Tribbitt, 72

GREENSBORO, Md. - Shirley Ann Tribbitt, of Greensboro, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 72.

She was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Greensboro to the late Louis and Pearl Boyd.

Mrs. Tribbitt was a 1953 graduate of Greensboro High School.

After graduating she worked for Pet Milk Co. of Greensboro until their closing in 1970.

She then worked for Peoples Bank in the Production Credit department.

In 1975, Mrs. Tribbitt went on to work for the Caroline County Commissioners in the treasurer's office.

She was appointed the deputy treasurer in 1984.

She retired from the treasurer's office in 1997.

Mrs. Tribbitt was an active volunteer for the Greensboro Little League and Senior League and the North Caroline Band Parents Association.

She was a member of the local and national AARP.

Mrs. Tribbitt enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and doing for her sons and grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded three brothers Clifton Boyd, Robert L. Boyd and Sonny Boyd.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William "Bill" Tribbitt of Greensboro; two sons, Bobby Tribbitt of Felton, Del., Wayne and his wife Cindy Tribbitt of Greensboro; grandson, Brian Tribbitt of Greensboro; one sister, Hazel Kibler of Goldsboro; two brothers, Jim Ike Boyd of Harrington, Del. and Allen Boyd of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. today in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to Greensboro Baptist Church, P.O. Box 66 Greensboro, MD 21639.
