Sherry Ann Vurgich, 75
FELTON - Sherry Ann Vurgich passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She was a strong, vibrant, and kind woman who always thought of others. Sherry was born on October 28, 1947, in Pittsburgh, PA, to John and Dorothy Pancurak (Centennial) and was the oldest of three children. Her brothers, Jeffery and Jack, preceded her in death.
Sherry grew up in Hopewell, PA, where she was a graduate of Hopewell High School, class of 1964. It was there that she met her husband of 54 years, Ralph Vurgich, and the two were married on August 10, 1968. She relocated with her husband to Baltimore, MD, where they started their family. Raising her three children, Sherry worked at Scan Furniture as a buyer, which fueled her artistic talents for design and interior decorating. She oversaw the purchasing and monitoring the shipping of containers from the Scandinavian countries. Over the years, she enjoyed family vacations to Florida and California. Sherry's fighting spirit helped her to overcome a debilitating stroke that left her paralyzed on the right side of her body in 1994. In her later years, she delighted in visiting the local casinos, watching her koi fishpond, couponing from the comfort of her chair, spending time with her granddaughters and spoiling a certain bulldog.
Sherry is survived by son, Ralph Douglas Vurgich of Virginia; daughter, Alisa Marie (Vurgich) Davis married to Jamie Davis; granddaughters, LeeAnn Amanda Davis, Carolyn Victoria Davis and Adeline Elizabeth Davis of North Carolina; and son, Gregory Michael Vurgich married to Bridget Vurgich of Delaware.
