WILMINGTON - Sharon L. (McCracken) Black, age 51, of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Christiana Hospital. Born in Wilmington on Feb. 22, 1958, Sharon was a daughter of the late Robert S. McCracken and Jean A. Douglas McCracken. She had been employed as an accounting professional with United Electric Supply Company in New Castle for the past 33 years. Throughout her life, Sharon delighted in caring for her beloved family, especially her precious grandson, who was her pride and joy. She also enjoyed vacations at her beach home at Elkview Shores in Earleville, Md., and spending time with her many friends. A talented photographer, Sharon had an expert eye for natural beauty; she particularly liked watching sunsets. Sharon will be truly and deeply missed by her daughter, Jenny Black and her fiancé, Joseph Walls of Clayton; grandson, Christian Walls; brothers, Robert McCracken and his wife Wanda of Bear, and John McCracken and his wife Diane of Dover; sister, Judy Prime and her husband Mike of Earleville, Md.; boyfriend, William DuRoss of Wilmington; four nieces, three nephews, and many devoted friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N.
