SEAFORD - Scott Clay Barnett was born on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1976 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge, Md. to Kathy Tieder Barnett and Curt Barnett. Scott passed away on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 in Seaford.
Scott attended schools in the Seaford School District and matriculated to Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown where he earned an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering. Scott was employed with Parker & Associates, Inc., a surveying firm in Salisbury, Md. and attended church at 3 C's USA (Community Christian Church) in Delmar, Md. He enjoyed music, running, "breaking bad", cleaning shoes, and hats. Scott married Sarah Barnett on Dec. 14, 2015. He was larger than life and loved his family and friends, and was loved by many. He will be greatly-missed, always and forever, plus a day!
Scott was preceded in death by his grandmother, June Metz; and grandparents, Wilmer and Mary Barnett.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Sarah Barnett; children, Lexie Jackson, Katlyn Smith, Dawson Barnett-Nelson and Dax Barnett; siblings, Rachel Barnett of Seaford, and her children: Michele and Lynne Baron; and one aunt, Lois Francis; his grandparents, Robert and Judy Tieder of Cambridge, Md., his parents, Kathy and Curt Barnett of Seaford.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 437 N. Front Street, Seaford, Delaware 19973 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 the Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m., with a viewing, one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Seaford Goes Purple Opiod Awareness – Anti-Stigma Campaign through the Sussex County Health Coalition at 21133 Sterling Avenue, Suite 12, Georgetown, Delaware 19947. In support, if possible, please wear the color purple.
